A film on the present crisis in the society – farmers land issues, encroachment of forest area, travails of such people are contents in this ‘Hombanna’. The film is set in Malnad cultural backdrop raises pertinent issues. When the farmer immediately comes to know that the land he is cultivating and living is not his, what happens?

Subbu plays the lead in this film while Dhanu Gowda hero cum story, screenplay and producer has studied such cases in our society. One of the songs for this film was picked via Face Book friend. The film has completed 90 percent of shooting in and around Malnad. Rakshit Thirthahalli besides writing six songs has penned story, screenplay, and dialogue besides direction.

The English words are kept aside and seven songs scored by Vinu Manasu are rendered by local talent. The 98 years freedom fighter HS Doreswany was present to release audio CD. He was felicitated on this occasion. He is hoping for good contents that would change people and government mind in the film ‘Hombanna’.

Farmers leader Kadidalu Shamanna also wished that this kind of film would bring some respite to the people affected. Kodihalli Chandrasekhar also farmer leader acted in a small reason explained the encroachment of farmers land happening in the state.

Producer Ramakrishna Nigade, lyricist Kaviraj and Areca Tea researcher Nivedan Nampe were present with artists and technicians of the film for audio release. The team decked with Malnad cap looked different at audio release event.

Hombanna with caption ‘Hutthane Bhumigyaru Yaru Beli Hakkond Huttalla’ is set for release in the month of December this year.
